At Stitches West in February, I’ll be teaching an almost full roster of classes, including three-count-em-three new classes.
The new classes are: Go Bi-Textural, Easy Stitches for Impatient Knitters, and Crochet Stitch Workshop. I’ll also be teaching the ever-popular How to Say It: Technical Writing for Knitters & Crocheters (perfect if you want to publish your own designs or consider becoming a tech editor), and Crochet for Knitters.
I love the Stitches Events; I’ve been going to them as a student and then as a teacher for twenty years! There’s so much camaraderie and fun, and newcomers are always welcome! Please join me for some of the best fiber fun around.
I have your pattern Mystify Throw using short rows. Do you use a separate ball of yarn for each section? Is this made in panels of 5 sections because 100 stitches seem not wide enough for a throw.
No-it’s just one ball of yarn at a time, but the yarn is a novelty yarn that has varying textures. It’s a small throw, and I don’t remember what the gauge is, but the finished dimensions should be on the pattern. If you want to make it larger, just add stitches in multiples of 20, and work in the pattern as described. You’ll want to add length, as well, and you’ll need more yarn.
Section 1 is: Knit 1 row. Work Section 1 once, Section 2 4 times, then Section 3 once. At this point you have worked all the way across the throw and should have the same number of rows in each sections.
This is Section 1: K20, W/T, knit to end, turn.
K15, W/T; knit to end, turn.
K10, W/T; knit to end, turn.
K5, W/T; knit to end, turn.
K20.
I’m at Row 5 in this section. How do I get down to row 1 for Section 2?
