Get your spook on with this bat beanie hat knitting pattern! And it’s even creepier at night, when the white bats glow eerily in the dark! This fun and festive knitting project is perfect for adding a touch of spooky style to your wardrobe, whether at Halloween or at any time of the year.
The hat is knit in the round in stockinette stitch, using a stranded knitting technique. You’ll follow a chart for the colorwork pattern, while the crown shaping is both written and charted. Different needle sizes are used to achieve the desired size: adult small/medium or adult medium/large.

The Materials
Knit the hat using medium weight (worsted weight) yarn. You’ll need about 110 yards (100 meters) of the main color, and about 50 yards (45 meters) of the contrasting color. You can use plain yarn for both colors, but I chose a special glow-in-the-dark yarn that appears white in the light but really shines in the dark!
The sample was knit using 1 ball of Red Heart Soft (100% acrylic, 5 oz/141 g, 256 yds/254 m) in color Black and 1 ball of Lion Brand DIY Glow (100% polyester, 1.75 oz/50 g, 72 yds/65 m) in color Natural.
