Sweater design involves math. A lot of math. Which is exactly what spreadsheets excel at. (See what I did there?)
In this series of four 2-hour live virtual classes, we’ll start by reviewing some of the math we use to draft a sweater pattern for knitting or crocheting.
Then we’ll move those formulas to an Excel or Google Sheet spreadsheet that will do the calculations.
You’ll create your own high-powered “calculator” that will enable you to grade for multiple sizes at once, double-check your calculations, convert measurements to metrics, automatically round numbers, and more. Along the way, there will be plenty of discussion about the mechanics of sweaters and sweater shaping.
This class is for designers, tech editors, and anybody who wants to design a sweater for one or more sizes.
